How to use the Interactive 3C & 3P Progression Tool to Enhance Career Capability
The interactive skill tool presented below is designed to assist both new and existing learners in identifying how they can enhance their value within an organisation. By using this tool, individuals can discover ways to be more productive and accelerate their progression in their career.
Keys to Advancement
Achieving progression, promotions, and pay rises within a business is straightforward: you must take on additional duties and responsibilities that contribute to the organisation’s success. Specifically, actions that help the business generate more revenue or operate more efficiently are most valued.
Mapping Progression Routes
The tool below outlines typical progression pathways from most of the apprenticeships we offer. For instance, an individual in a business support role would likely follow a development program such as the Business Admin Level 3 Apprenticeship. By clicking the relevant icon within the diagram, users can view all the skills required to begin and complete this apprenticeship successfully.
Those interested in further advancement can follow the arrows in the diagram to explore common upskilling routes. Selecting each option reveals the specific skill sets needed to start each program. Increasing awareness of these progression options and required skills enables learners and coaches to focus on upskilling earlier, resulting in greater productivity for employers and faster career progression, including opportunities for pay increases and promotions.
Creating Your Productivity and Progression Plan
After identifying the ideal progression route, users can interact with the skill boxes by selecting those they currently possess and leaving the rest unmarked. At the end select ‘Download Summary’, the system will then generate a downloadable and printable PDF. This document serves as a valuable resource for discussions with employers or coaches, helping to develop a tailored productivity and progression plan.
Funding
Employers paying the apprenticeship levy can use their funds to pay for these programmes.
Smaller organisations with an annual payroll bill of less than £3 million per year will need to contribute 5% towards the cost of these apprenticeships for employees aged 22 +. The government will cover 100% of the cost for employees aged 16-21. From 1st Aug 2026 the government will fund 100% of the cost for employees aged 16-24.
