Aon Risk Solutions based in Manchester recruited their first apprentice Annie to provide administration support to their client services team. Annie’s initial role was a Business Support Apprentice including a variety of tasks from answering phone calls, to dealing with queries, invoicing, updating systems and sending out letters on behalf of colleagues. She is now permanently employed supporting to 12 people within the team, monitoring KPIs and identifying areas of risk, as well as assisting with credit control, archiving documents, editing reports and presentations.
Four months into her apprenticeship Annie was nominated for the ‘Most Valuable Person’ Award out of a department of 40 people. Her Manager Linda Wareing said; “We usually recruit people with experience but felt it was right to give a young person an opportunity. Annie has added value on many fronts from her commitment to training and development, to her motivation in wanting to succeed.
Annie works really hard and is a breath of fresh air in the office. She has got to know everyone and settled in to the department brilliantly. She has taken instruction well and been able to just get on with the job”. Karen Adegoke, Client Management Director commented ” Annie made an impact within the first 6 to 8 weeks of her joining us. By giving her administration based tasks she freed up our Service Advisers to focus on clients. Annie brings energy, enthusiasm and a positive attitude which has reinvigorated the team.
