The Apprentice Academy is proud to announce that CIPS have now awarded them study centre approval!
What it means to be a CIPS approved centre
The Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) are the awarding body and professional institute for the Procurement sector. CIPS describe an approved study centre as the following:
“Students can have confidence that the current tuition and resources provided by a CIPS approved centre are up to date with the current syllabus for all of CIPS qualification and offer the full guided learning hours criteria set by CIPS.”
The Procurement and Supply Chain Apprenticeship programme
Currently there is only one Apprenticeship Standard available to employees who work within Procurement and/or Supply Chain roles, which is the Level 4 Commercial Procurement and Supply Apprenticeship.
This Apprenticeship programme covers the following learning: the principles of procurement and supply, understanding how to source and procure goods and services, negotiation and how to set up contracts, how to best manage contracts/supplier relationships and category management.
The big attraction for learners and employers is that this apprenticeship includes the CIPS Level 4 Diploma in Procurement, which normally costs circa £4000.
The Apprentice Academy utilise a blended learning approach to delivering this programme, combining workshops (which are delivered by industry experts) with hard copy study guides, online resources plus regular one to one coaching with an experienced procurement coach.
The Level 3 Procurement Apprenticeship is currently under development and is estimated to get funding approval early 2020. The Level 6 programme is also in development and should be available late 2020 – all going well.
Apprenticeship Levy funds can be used to pay for this programme and 95% funding is available to organisations who are non-levy payers.
The programme outline for the apprenticeship can be found here.
