Employer Apprenticeship Grant of £3000 extended until 31st January 2022.
The employer incentive scheme was first introduced on the 1st of August 2020 and was originally due to end on March 31st, 2021. Now the incentives have been extended further by 4 months until 31st January 2022.
This means that employers will receive £3000 for every new employee who starts employment, and is enrolled onto an apprenticeship with them, before the cut-off date.
Employers are responsible for making the claim, which will be paid directly by the government in two equal instalments, at 3 months and 12 months from the start date of the employee.
All new employees of any age starting any apprenticeship programme will be eligible and they are unlimited! This in theory could create scenarios such as:
- Hiring a new Manager and enrolling them onto the Level 5 Operational Management Apprenticeship, which is an ideal apprenticeship for individuals in first line management roles.
- Or perhaps hiring an individual for your Finance team, who already has a level 3 AAT qualification, who you would be looking to upskill to the level 4 Professional Accountant apprenticeship.
- Maybe you would like a member of staff to study towards the level 3 Business Administration programme, or looking to start a young person on this apprenticeship in an entry level role?
On top of all that, there is no employers National Insurance payable for any member of staff doing an apprenticeship up to the age of 25, meaning employers can make more savings.
