Apprentice George Moss who works at Bee Motion has recently received some fantastic news. He has been awarded ‘The Apprentice of the Year’ at the Sage Impact Awards 2021!
A massive congratulations to George and the team at Bee Motion for supporting and nominating him for the award.
On hearing the news, we spoke to George to get his views on how it came to be.
George’s role as a Practice Manager, enables him to work with a wide range of businesses dealing with all aspects of their financials, such as payroll, VAT, year-end accounts, and personal tax.

‘Winning the apprentice of the year at the Sage Impact awards was a total shock, I could not believe that my team had even nominated me for the award. Not only was it a personal victory, but also a great achievement for the firm, in how they have supported me with my training’.
George has transitioned from AAT level 3 to 4 and has found the online aspect of his apprenticeship really beneficial, minimizing time away for the office, ‘All the learning supports the work I do at Bee Motion, whether it be it ethics related or something more numbers orientated… the breakdown of the content is specific to my role and gives me the confidence to complete my accountancy work to a high standard.’
George is now doing the Professional Accounting Level 4 Apprenticeship which is an 18 month programme, aimed at employees who want to become fully AAT qualified. He is due to complete his studies in November 2021.
Most importantly, we asked George what he liked most about the apprenticeship, ‘the most enjoyable part of the programme is meeting fellow accountants from different sectors and industries, and gaining an insight into their roles, which is helping me to expand my network; being an apprentice enables you to gain a nationally recognised qualification while getting hands-on experience and building your career from the offset.’
