Senior Housing & Property Management Level 4

Over the last decade The Apprentice Academy has partnered with more than 250 housing and property management organisations to support the development of their employees. Who is the Level 4 Senior Housing & Property Management programme for?

This apprenticeship is designed for senior property or housing professionals who want to get qualified without having to sit any exams.

It includes the CIH Level 4 Certificate in Housing.

Employees who work in block management can incorporate additional TPI learning (formerly IRPM) if they wish.

For those who work with social tenants, it ensures they meet the mandatory requirements outlined in the Social Housing (Regulation) Act 2023

Latest success rates for the Level 4 Senior Housing and Property Management Apprenticeship show that 100% of our learners completed successfully in 25/26.

14-17 months

The Learning Journey

The learning journey has been designed with flexibility in mind, to support busy property managers who must prioritise the needs of their tenants at short notice. Live workshops are kept to a minimum which enables learners to access learning materials and support when they need it.

Professional Registration

On completion of this apprenticeship, individuals will be able to apply for membership of The Association of Residential Lettings Agents (ARLA) at Fellow level. To do this the learner will need to have 5 years’ experience of working in the sector at the time of application. Alternatively, individuals can apply for membership of The Property Institute (Formerly IRPM) at Full Member Level or the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) at Certified Practitioner level.

Costs and funding

Employers paying the apprenticeship levy can use their funds to pay for this programme.

Smaller organisations with an annual payroll bill of less than £3 million per year will need to contribute 5% towards the cost of the apprenticeship for employees aged 22 +. The government will cover 100% of the cost for employees aged 16-21. From 1^st Aug 2026 the government will fund 100% of the cost for employees aged 16-24.

Eligibility criteria for employees to do an Apprenticeship:

• The employee must be aged 16 or above (there is no upper age limit)
• The employee can work full or part time hours
• The employee works for a company in England
• The employee spends > 50% of their time working in England (remote and hybrid workers included)
• The employee has some gaps in their knowledge and skill that relates to their occupational role
• The employee has the right to work in England
• The employee has spent the last 3 years living in England
