What have been the major benefits of employing apprentices?

Employer: Alice Buttifant
I would say the major benefits of employing an apprentice are:

  • They are eager to learn and very enthusiastic.
  • They are well motivated.
  • They are continually learning and developing in terms of gaining their NVQ and through the Academy training sessions.
  • They arrive in the workplace well prepared for an office environment following their boot camp week.
  • We have continual support from the Academy should there be any problems.

What have you worked on for the company that people wouldn’t believe apprentices do?

Apprentice: Steven Reid
I’d have to say helping to create a Tribunal bundle that will actually be used in a Tribunal hearing. So any mistake I make could potentially cost us, and our client. Such as missing a document out, accidently not noticing a double page, even failing to meet a deadline. I’ve actually helped create a good few bundles that have been used in the Tribunal hearings in the year I’ve been here, so I do think some people wouldn’t believe the documents used in a Tribunal hearing have been put together by an apprentice.
