Bruntwood is a family-owned company that own and run over 110 buildings. These buildings are home to all sizes of businesses from companies that need a desk for a day through to a those that want a whole building for 25 years. Over their 36-year history Bruntwood have played an active role in their local communities and along with the Oglesby family shareholders donate a figure in excess of 10% of profits to art and charity initiatives.
Emily Bescoby – Recruitment & Training Co-ordinator
Emily’s Journey Emily was originally placed with Bruntwood in 2011, starting out in customer service. Her role included being the first point-of-contact for internal staff relating to facilities and buildings. In October 2013, Emily moved into the HR and Training department, where she now supports the co-ordination of recruitment across Bruntwood. Emily’s responsibilities include: • Supporting internal line managers with recruitment needs • Advertising roles with job sites and recruitment agencies • Managing applications, including setting up interviews • Acting as the first-point-of-contact to applicants • Organising and assisting with internal training sessions across the business
Emily’s view on Apprenticeships
My Apprenticeship gave me a good insight into what working life is like; I’ve had great opportunities to learn new skills. My Apprenticeship has also helped me to build my confidence. Advice for a young person starting an Apprenticeship Believe in yourself and always grasp any opportunities that come your way.
