Iona was the first Apprentice we took on and has been with us for around 18 months. Iona originally started in administration, however has now progressed into a fulltime recruitment role helping to co-ordinate the freelance desk. Her role requires real organisation and working to tight deadlines. With Iona being promoted, it has meant we have now recruited a new apprentice to start in the administration role.
What has impressed you the most?
We don’t normally take on lesser experienced staff, however we wanted to try working with an Apprentice. What surprised me the most was how mature Iona is, her passion for her work, together with her willing to go the extra mile. We are really proud of Iona.

My role is very varied and includes • Co-ordinating the ‘Freelance’ temp desk • First point of contact for freelance candidates • Interview candidates • Maintaining relations with customers including attending visits and lunch events • Supporting on accounts including timesheets and invoices
What have you enjoyed the most?
I’ve really enjoyed becoming a big part of a well-established company. I’ve had really varied career opportunities including visiting the London office. I’m very proud to be an Apprentice taking on such a challenging role as it was a big step up for me.
Advice for a young person starting an Apprenticeship
I would say take all of the opportunities you get, they only come once. You might think that an apprentice’s job is to make tea, in reality I’m treated just the same as all the staff and really proud to be an Apprentice!
