Opportunity

A great opportunity has arisen for an Accounting Apprentice to join a successful Stalybridge company set up in 2003. There are 3 people within Accounts including the Finance Director and Accounts Manager.  The company have a family feel and very supportive to each other.  The role will be varied and busy; and a great first role into Accounting.  Typical duties will include:

Role & Responsibility

  • Assisting the Sales Ledger in raising and posting invoices on to Sage
  • Document management including filing and distributing sales invoicing
  • Assisting the Sales Ledger in recording customer receipts onto cash flow spreadsheet
  • Posting all bank transactions on sage
  • Assisting the Purchase Ledger in checking purchase invoices against supplier statements and chasing up missing invoices
  • Posting purchase invoices on to sage and filing the invoices
  • Liaising with Stores Manager in terms of paying suppliers and other queries
  • Provide administration support to the Finance Department
  • Provide Reception duties covering absences where necessary
  • Supporting on Health and Safety including maintaining record book and raising forms when required

 

Skills and experience

You will be expected to have achieved 5 GCSEs Grades A – C (or equivalent), including grade C or above in English.
